Freeze on Secret character fights using Bosses (The legit way)

So on mame, I unlocked Kintaro through survival and played up the Klassic Mode.
I fought Jade and when you're supposed to go back to the character select screen, the game freezes.
This happens regardless of a win or loss. As soon as its say "Now return back to outworld" boom, frozen.

This is on the newest build of mame with cheats disabled.
