join us on discord. the solution I created is there. discord.gg/Metzsd
FBNEO has not fleshed out there midway emulation completely yet. The speed is wrong. There is a mame2010 core that plays Plus games on pi4.
github.com/Zoltan45/mame2010-midway-plus-libretro
use the testing branch.
If 2016 works well, maybe i will add the games to that. I do not have a pi, and could not get anyone, in this thread or discord, to simply tell me which core would play regular mk2 and umk3 the best on a pi4, so i just picked the core to mod myself and 2010 is pretty crappy as far as mame cores go.

Yes, lr-mame2016 is running MK2 and MK3 really good on my Pi4 without an overclock. I literally just set it up yesterday as an upgrade over a Pi3B+ and lr-mame2003plus.

Umk3+ beta 1 and mk2+ beta 2 are supported in both mame2003 and mame2003-plus.

I'm a dev for mame2003 and mame2003-plus. I added both of these awhile ago officially. You can update either emulator from source or download a nightly build from libretro's nightly build website.
